Using Aloe Vera for Arthritis
Add four fluid onces (120ml) of Aloe Vera Gel to the feed every day. Massage the affected joints with a mix of Aloe Vera Gel and Eucolyptus.WHY? The Aloe Vera gel that is digested will act as an anti inflammatory around the affected joints. The Gel and Eucolyptus mix on the skin will penetrate the surface and encourage increased blood flow in the local area. It acts in a similar way to the Heat Lotions applied to sports injuries.
How long will it take for Aloe Vera to work with Arthritis?
It takes approximately one month for every year the horse has had the ailment. Some owners choose to gradually increase the gel in the food until an improvement can be seen and then reduce it to a maintenance dose.Note Aloe Vera seems to deal with the inflammationa and thus the pain but it will not permenantly cure the underlying arthritis so continued use of Aloe Vera is required.
